Grammy Awards for 1976By Patrick Mondout
The big winner at the 19th annual Grammy Awards was Stevie Wonder. For
an unprecedented third time in four years, he won Album of the Year. The
ancient academy voters gave the Best New Artist award to the one-hit
wonders Starland Vocal Band instead of Boston. While Barry Manilow was
nominated for Record of the Year for I Write the Songs, it was the
song's actual writer, Bruce Johnson, who won for Song of the Year.
Note: All nominees are listed and
denotes the Grammy winner(s).
