1969-1970 Emmy AwardsBy Patrick Mondout
The 1969-1970 Emmys, awarded for programs aired between March 17, 1969
and March 15, 1970, were presented on June 7, 1970 at the Century Plaza
Hotel in Hollywood and the Carnegie Hall in New York and broadcast on ABC.
This was the first year that the awards for technicians and others who
were not in front of the camera were held in a separate ceremony. The big
upset of the night was Room 222
winning Best New Series over Sesame Street.
Winners are denoted with an Emmy statue: .gif)
